Shine Spa

It’s called Shine Spa and it did made me shine after pampering myself with four hours body scrub, body massage and a facial. The magic happened in Sheraton Hangzhou Wetland Park Resort.

Only opened a couple of months ago, located in the hotel’s East Wing gardens among trickling streams and verdant landscape, the design of the spa courtyard compliments the Jiangnan style of the hotel. While I walking down the hallway, I couldn’t help noticing the different wall paintings in every room. To truly reveal the beauty of Xixi Wetland, every single treatment room contains a wall painting completed by Xiling Yinshe, and they are based on original photographs taken of Xixi Wetland scenery.

My therapist Katrina has a beautiful smile and soft hands, that would make any customer willing to leave their naked body to her trustful hands. My treatment “Paradise” started with a foot scrub with sea salt followed by a body scrub. Unlike any other body scrub I’ve had, this one was done by cocoa. Instantly the whole room was full of this delicious and wonderful cocoa fragrance, my body was covered by it, I have to tell you this is an amazing experience, I so wanted to eat myself at that moment. The massage after was a tension relieving Shine signature massage, it is a perfect combination when you are feeling tired. I chose the essential oil that I like, and Katrina focused on the area that I felt weakest, such as shoulder, neck, cervical and lumbar. She said the therapists at Shine Spa have a compulsory subject called “Life Breath.” Similar to the swordsmen from martial arts stories, their spa therapists practice Tai-chi and Baduanjin every day. It is through careful, meditative exercise that their therapists achieve inner relaxation to apply to their massage practice.

The Shine Gold Facial I had after is a powerful anti-ageing and rejuvenating treatment. Gold facial special creams are used containing 24-carat pure gold, aloe Vera, oil Marine relaxant. Gold has a powerful effect on lymphatic drainage, facilitating the removal of toxins and waste thus accelerating cell regeneration. The gold facial is advisable to improve blood circulation, skin elasticity, rejuvenation of skin and helps in delaying the formation of lines and wrinkles. Shine Spa has selected two unique spa product brands for its use, Germaine de Capuccini and Terrake. They are available for sale too.

These two treatment was 120 minutes each, the cost was 2,020RMB in total. Other than these, Shine Spa offers massage, facial, hydrotherapy, body scrub, body wrap, and several hand and foot treatments, a greater variety of spa packages for couples are available too.
