The National Postdoctoral Research Forum, focusing on theories and practices concerning ecological civilization, took place on October 13 in Changsha. It brought together about 80 specialists, scholars, and postdoctoral researchers from organizations such as Tsinghua University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.
The forum presented researchers' findings regarding sustainable development strategy, as well as theories and practices related to ecological civilization. The discussion concluded that Hunan needs to focus its green Hunan undertaking on pinpointing industrial layout, for instance, establishing Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster as the green industry center, Dongting Lake area as the green agriculture center, and Xiangxi as the green tourism center.
The concept of "remnant" was also brought forward by the postdoctoral researchers. Discussions were held on how to realize zero emissions and a planned and stepped full utilization of ecological resources.
Currently, Hunan has 169 postdoctoral stations, involving 12 specialties and covering 19 first-level disciplines.
