The world’s largest circus will open in Southeast China’s Xiamen by Sept. 8, 2013. The circus will also include an ancillary five-star hotel, a culture plaza and an animal specimen museum. The whole project will be completed by the end of 2014.

Known as the Xiamen Lingling International Circus City, the project is set to commence on Oct. 20 in Jimei district with an investment of 114.9 million yuan ($18.23m USD) from Jiangsu Yancheng Safari Park Co Ltd. Located at the intersection at the north part of Xingjin Street and Xinglin Street, the circus covers 92,291 square meters of land and has 124,900 square meters of total construction.

It can hold nearly 10,000 spectators with world-class performances such as jugglers, aquacade, architectural lighting, trapeze artists and acrobats. Giraffes, zebras and llamas are among the more than 600 animals and 50 species across the world that will stage magic shows at the inauguration ceremony.
